How long does it take to build?

Generally, we can build your prefabricated home to your specifications within 10 to 12 weeks.

Can I view a transportable home?

With homes ready to go, we are always happy to welcome you to view our showroom at our factory and talk to you about the home you want.

Where can I put a prefabricated home?

Pro Homes can deliver your brand new prefabricated home anywhere in the Lower North Island, subject to a site inspection, including Wairarapa, Taranaki, Kapiti Coast and Hawkes Bay.

Can I customize my transportable?

We have a range of standard floor plan options that we can most certainly modify to ensure you get the home that suits your needs and lifestyle. Turning people’s home ideals into practical designs is something we have a lot of experience with. Bear in mind that our recommended floor plans shown in this brochure are the most cost effective and efficient to construct.

Do I need a permit for a transportable home?

Although each Pro Homes building already has a building consent and a code compliance certificate, the region's local council must also grant a "onsite building consent" before the building can be transported there. This approval is intended to demonstrate adherence to local town planning and building regulations, including those governing boundary setbacks, foundations, utility connections, etc.

If you wish, you can make arrangements for a nearby architectural company to handle the onsite consent while we handle the entire consent process for you.

How is the building transported to the site?

Buildings from Pro Homes are sent all across the North Island. Depending on factors like travel distance, site complexity, etc. The cost of moving a building from our Feilding yard to your location may change. We collaborate with a reputable and skilled home transport business that will handle every part of the building shipment.

Do your homes work with solar power?

Unquestionably, a Pro Homes building can have a solar power system. We may either install a full solar system before the building leaves our yard, or we can just attach the cabling to the metre board to make it possible to install a solar system in the future.

What other costs and considerations are there when purchasing a transportable home?

The cost of a Pro Homes transportable is listed in the current pricing; which covers the actual cost of the building from our yard in Feilding, as well as the cost of a building permit and a certificate proving that it complies with all applicable laws.

The building is delivered fully furnished, including all flooring, lighting, bathrooms, kitchen/scullery, entertainment wall/shelving, etc., as well as all wiring and plumbing that are ready for onsite connection.

Buying a mobile home involves extra fees, such as onsite consents, transportation to the site, and onsite services. Also, we may factor in these expenses and oversee the procedure for you.

What is the deposit for a transportable home and how are the payments structured?

After a building contract is signed, a 10% deposit is required, and progress payments are made based on the various phases of finished work over the course of the construction process.

What foundations do I need for the building?

The building will be placed atop piles. If your site is essentially level, the building's moving company will arrange for piling and installation. Prior to delivery, our transport firm will visit the site to examine the accessibility. We'll also conduct a geotechnical analysis to determine the size and depth at which your piles should be installed. If your site is steep, a building contractor may need to install the piles before the building is brought to the location.
